This was my first external drive and it was as simple as I could imagine. I used the supplied Firewire 800 and connected it to my iMac and it instantly showed up in the finder. It offered me a TimeCapsule backup, but I just wanted to drag and drop some iMovie events and backup my Aperture library so that’s what I did.
